Feliz lunes.!! Happy Monday.!! I’m super happy today because it’s 60 degrees in Chicago.! That’s practically bathing suit weather around here 🙂 My weekend was also phenomenal. I had drinks on Saturday night with a really good friend. It was a bar I had never been to so that was a fun experience. Even having been born and raised in Chicago, you can still find a new bar to like.! Or an old bar in this case, as it has one of the oldest liquor licenses in Chicago.!!! I also put in a killer workout on Sunday in preparation for bathing suit weather.! But I have to tell you…I’m a little sore today. Lol… So I guess that means it worked 🙂

Speaking of bars and bathing suit weather, in this week’s Corona commercial, we have more people looking for their beach. Sometimes in life, your beach can be a lake or even a pool because you can’t always make it to the ocean.! So in that spirit, I hope everyone finds their own personal beach this week.! And that fantastic weather finds us all. Have a great week. Enjoy.! Y salud.!!

you can run…but you can’t hide…

Hello Everyone.!!! It was Benito Juarez’s (former Mexican president) birthday the other day.! And they had a small celebration near my job. Here is a former post talking about the president. Enjoy.!

So for many months now, I’ve been walking by a particular statue by my job downtown. I never really gave it much thought until the other week because I noticed people kept taking their photo by the statue. Normally, I just wind my way around tourists taking pictures of the skyscrapers and the ‘Horses of Honor’ artwork decorating Michigan Avenue. I learned how to do that exceptionally well when I lived in playa.!! But for some reason, I was intrigued. Who was this man.? Why were people taking photos with him.? And so, on a rare warm day as I strolled by, I stopped to read the plaque affixed near the statue. The plaque read – Benito Juárez.! Are you kidding me.?!? Benito Juárez.!

Are you telling me, there is a statue of the former president of Mexico right outside my job.?! I’m sure I’ve mentioned several…

Feliz martes.!! Happy Tuesday.!! Just when I thought the weather was getting better in Chicago, we got more snow.!! Everyone thought it was only going to be a dusting. But mother nature had other plans. It was a full five inches of snow and of course it ruined morning rush hour.! Oh well…shoulder shrug…welcome to Chicago.! I hear nicer weather is in our future, so I’m still holding out hope. At least, I had a nice weekend 🙂 There were tasty beverages and strawberries involved so all is right with the world.!

In this week’s Corona commercial, our faithful beer drinkers are making the best out of not being near a beautiful Mexican beach. Like the rest of us, including me, they found their own “beach”. Have a great week everyone.! Enjoy.! Y salud.!!

I had forgotten all about it. But there it was yesterday – a message from WordPress reminding me.! It was my two year anniversary.!!! I can’t believe two years has gone by.! I know – I know – I’m sure everybody says that.! But really, I can hardly believe it. I have been blogging for two years or a 104 weeks – three times a week.!! It seemed insurmountable when I began. But now…I can pretty much write a blog anywhere. Wow.! – deep sigh –

Thank you to all of my fellow bloggers for your support and encouragement.! I truly feel like I have made some good friends from blogging and developed a social network 🙂 Thank you to all of my readers, followers, and friends.! If you didn’t keep reading, I probably would have stopped writing at some point.! So thanks 😀

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.!! I saved Tecate especially for today because it is the official holiday and my unpacking has finally reached an end.! How delightful.! I need a celebratory beer now more than ever. And what better day than today in Chicago where everyone is Irish for the day 🙂 A city where we dye our river green to commemorate this awesome holiday.!

Strangely enough, the Irish also have an impressive history with Mexico. The Mexican-American War of 1846-48 was fought due to the U.S. annexation of Texas which Mexico strongly disputed (see wikipedia.com). A group of immigrants and expatriates (mainly of Irish, German, French, Italian, and other European nationalities) defected from the American side during the war.

Ohhhhh….how I’ve missed him..!! The Most Interesting Man in the World is back this week.!! Apparently, Dos Equis received our message and responded to our collective suffering.! It’s the first new commercial of The Most Interesting Man in 2015. So I think for the foreseeable future, I will continue to do Corona commercials intercepted by Dos Equis when available.! How fun.!! I hope everyone’s weekend was amazing. The weather in Chicago has finally lightened up a little so that makes everything wonderful.!! Plus Chicago had St. Patrick’s Day celebrations all weekend long which created phenomenal energy citywide.!

But I’m sure none of us had the kind of weekend that The Most Interesting Man in the World has every weekend.! jajaja… In this week’s Dos Equis’ commercial, we discover that most of us hope for a great fortune cookie reading. While, the Most Interesting Man’s fortune cookies all read, “Congratulations”. Of course they do.! Feliz lunes a todos.!! Happy Monday everyone.!! Have a great week.! Enjoy.! Y salud.!!
